My Graduation Celebration

I love parties. And a party in my honor? Well, that's the best kind. The weekend after my graduation, friends and family came over for a lovely afternoon get-together. Daddy decorated the kitchen and breakfast room with hints of orange and blue. The table was full of orange and blue (mostly orange) foods that Mama picked up at the grocery store the day before. There was no mistaking the fact that I was a Gator grad... and proud of it!

And it was clear that they were the parents of a Gator.

Because I majored in Chemistry, Erlenmeyer flasks were used instead of flower vases.

As a thank you for coming, I sent a little Chemistry home with everyone... something with a little C6H12O6 (sugar). Thanks to Bridget at Bake at 350 and all of her helpful tips, I made these:

It was a wonderful time catching up with everyone after being away at school. I was thankful for a group of people so excited to celebrate with me, and I was thankful to be home!

Though I graduated from college in May, my scholastic forecast is not clear just yet. In August, it's on to Pharmacy school I go! I planned on spending this transitional summer blogging, or learning to blog, but unfortunately I've gotten a late start. I mean, who knew there would be so much paperwork for an incoming professional student?

No matter, I'm ready to dive into the blogger's world. But, seeing as I am new at this, I hope you'll be patient with me if my dives are more like sloppy belly flops at first.
